Warner Bros. and nationally recognized Hispanic medical professional Dr. Aliza Lifshitz (La Doctora Aliza) hosted a special screening in Los Angeles on behalf of the upcoming film CONTAGION, opening in theaters this Friday, September 9.
Dr. Lifshitz is currently an MD of Internal Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, founder and editor of Vidaysalud.com, Univision Radio correspondent, and health contributor to Ser Padres and People en Espanol. She was excited to stand behind the film, using it as an opportunity to better educate the Latino community on health-related issues.
A post-screening panel also included Dr. Laurene Mascola (Chief of the Acute Communicable Disease Control Program) and Dr. Michelle Parra (Director of LA County Department of Public Health's Immunization Program). Moderated by Daniela Ganoza (Primer Impacto correspondent), the doctors discussed the film and the reality of viral epidemics, the benefits of vaccinations, and the importance of obtaining health information from reputable sources.
