Saturday, Sept. 15, MundoFox kicked off Mexico' and Central America's Independence with a one-hour special, "Unidos por un Grito" co-hosted by Rolando Nichols and former Mexican President, Vicente Fox.

This special program, aired at 8 p.m. PST/11 p.m. EST, and focused on the sense of pride in the U.S. culture felt among the American-Latino population and the respect they hold for their Latin heritage.

MundoFox initiated the celebrations with special programming starting at 2 p.m. PST/ 5 p.m. EST, which include films starring Antonio Aguilar.

Local affiliates such as KWHY / MundoFox 22 hosted their own celebrations which brought together some of the city's elected officials and the network's top talent, including the renowned Mexican actress and star of the network's hit telenovela "Los Exitosos Perez", Veronica Castro, and "Tu Vida Mas Simple" co-host, Luz Blanchet.
