Canela.TV Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month With ‘Orgullo Latino’ Line-Up

Canela Media, a leading Hispanic-owned technology and innovation driven multicultural media company and home of Canela.TV, announced the details of this year's celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, 'Orgullo Latino,' featuring the best of Latino talent, athletes, and artists throughout its content verticals between September 15 and October 15. With a stellar line-up of Hispanic stars from both yesterday and today, 'Orgullo Latino' 2024 will celebrate Latinos who have shaped our culture over the years with their many profound contributions to entertainment and the arts, paving the way for present-day stars and providing inspiration for future success stories.

The star-studded 'Orgullo Latino' celebration will include a collection of original movie co-productions by Canela.TV and Cinelatino leading with Danna García and Osvaldo de León in 'Amor a Fuego Lento'; exclusive interviews with Ana Bárbara and Jaime Camil in ¡Ponle Canela! and Isaac Alarcón and Oscar D'León on 'Canela News'; Javier Zanetti and Carlos "El Pibe" Valderrama in 'Historias de Leyendas'; Canela.TV's vast library of classic Mexican films, many of which have been remastered as part of Canela Media's initiative to preserve our cultural heritage through film, and the Canela.TV original reality series 'Secretos de Villanas', which will return on October 10 with its third season featuring six iconic telenovela villains as new cast member Catherine Siachoque joins returning Villanas telenovela icons Laura Zapata, Cynthia Klitbo, Sabine Moussier, Aylin Mujica and Gabriela Spanic.



Canela.TV's 'Orgullo Latino' will highlight a selection of original movies, Canela.TV and Cinelatino co-productions including 'Cazadoras de Millonarios,' starring Alicia Machado, Sherlyn, Veronica Montes, Isabel Burr, Pedro Moreno, and Christian Vázquez, 'Mi Perfecto Ex' featuring Marjorie de Sousa and Mark Tacher, and the recent premiere 'Amor a Fuego Lento,' with Danna García, Osvaldo de León and Isaura Espinoza. 'Orgullo Latino' also includes Mexican cinema and Hollywood films such as 'Una Vida Mejor' (A Better Life), featuring Demián Bichir, and the comedy 'Perfectos Desconocidos' (Perfect Strangers), with Cecilia Suárez and Bruno Bichir.



Canela.TV's 'Cine de Oro' collection, which honors the greatest actors of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema and their films' enduring impact on Latin culture, will offer in celebration of 'Orgullo Latino,' some of the best films of legendary actors like María Félix's 'La Devoradora'; Dolores del Rio's 'La Selva de Fuego'; and Pedro Infante's 'Cuidado con el Amor,' among many others. Additionally, Canela.TV will showcase reimagined posters from the 'Cine de Oro' collection, created by Mexican artists Lourdes Villagómez, Día Pacheco, and Ale de la Torre, highlighting the influence and multigenerational reach these films have on Latin culture.



Canela.TV's popular daily entertainment news show '¡Ponle Canela!' will have an exclusive lineup of celebrity interviews for 'Orgullo Latino,' including Mexican actor-singer Jaime Camil, Peruvian-Mexican singer Tania Libertad and Mexican singer-songwriter Ana Bárbara. Additionally, 'Canela News' will feature interviews with Mexican writer and journalist Andrea González, Mexican astronaut José Hernández, Mexican player for the San Francisco 49ers Issac Alarcón, and Venezuelan singer-songwriter Oscar D'León, among others.



Canela Kids will premiere new episodes of '¡Hola Romi!' where kids can have fun while learning words in Spanish and English. The upcoming episodes will feature a special Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. Additional kids' content will include 'SúperEllas,' where best friends Nelly and Lucia embark on a colorful historical journey to explore the lives of notable Latinas like Celia Cruz, Frida Kahlo, Zoe Saldaña, and others, who have made a significant impact on history and inspired generations. The lineup also includes 'Plaza Aventuras,' an animated adventure that follows Nano Banano, an inquisitive little monkey who explores with his friends from Mundo Plaza the rich culture of Latin America.



Canela Deportes will debut 'Historias de Leyendas: Javier Zanetti,' an exclusive conversation between the soccer legend known to fans worldwide as 'Pupi' with renowned broadcaster and play-by-play announcer Luis Omar Tapia, whose previous interview subjects in the series include former Colombian soccer players Carlos 'El Pibe' Valderrama, Oscar Córdoba and former Argentinian soccer player Mario Alberto Kempes. Other Canela Deportes highlights for 'Orgullo Latino' include 'Boxeo al Día: Juan Manuel Marquez,' in which the famed Mexican 'Dinamita' analyzes the current state of global boxing alongside other figures on ProBox TV; and 'One-on-One: Adriana Monsalve,' a lively conversation with Monsalve highlighting how she has fulfilled every goal set in her career and is an inspiration for women who want to dedicate their lives to sports journalism.

Canela Music will celebrate Latino music artists nominated throughout this awards season on 'Premios+.' The 'Hits Latinos' collection will offer viewers the opportunity to celebrate their Latin roots with a salute to legendary Latino musical artists such as Ana Bárbara, Cuban singer-songwriter Amaury Gutiérrez, and more. 'El Pop Quiz: Somos Hispanos' will present a fun series of Q&A featuring Argentinian actress and singer Celeste Sanazi and other Latino artists.
