Telemundo’s “Malverde: El Santo Patrón” Slated to Premiere this Fall

Telemundo announced the premiere date of the groundbreaking period Super Series Malverde: El Santo Patrón (Malverde: The Patron Saint) for Tuesday, September 28 at 10pm/9c. Starring acclaimed Mexican actor and singer Pedro Fernández (Hasta que el Dinero nos Separe, El Ganador) in the role of Malverde, the internationally renowned cast also includes Carolina Miranda (Señora Acero, Quien Mató a Sara) and Mark Tacher (La Reina del Sur 2Papá a toda Madre); alongside the stellar participation of Alejandro Nones (La Piloto, Quien Mató a Sara); Luis Felipe Tovar (El ReclusoThe Mexican) and Isabella Castillo (El Señor de los CielosEl Recluso).

Also joining the cast is Ivonne Montero; Sofía Castro; Miguel de Miguel; Ramón Medina; Alan Slim; Claudio Roca; Mariaca Semprún; María del Carmen Félix; Adrián Makala; Candela Márquez; Humberto Elizondo; Salvador Sánchez; Lukas Urkijo and Kenneth Lagunes.

Based on real events, the high-octane production centers around Jesus Malverde, one of the biggest and most controversial Mexican characters of the last 150 years, an outlaw who ultimately became a legendary figure, a religious icon, and protector of the innocent, poor and dispossessed. From the action-packed scenes to the many love affairs and captivating wardrobe of the era, this never-before-told story set in the early 1900s will enthral viewers as they discover the man behind the legend and determine whether he was a saint or a bandit.
