A More Human and Vulnerable Luis Miguel in Season 2 of ‘Luis Miguel, The Series’
After three years, the long-awaited second season of Luis Miguel: The Series is back. The second season, which premiered on Netflix on April 18 promises to show a more human and vulnerable side to El Sol De Mexico. The first season focused on Luis Miguel’s tumultuous upbringing as a child, his rise to fame at only 11 years old, and the disappearance of his mother, Marcela Basteri.
Season 2 is also told in two timelines. In the '90s, Luis Miguel tries to balance taking care of his two brothers, Alex and Sergio, his career after the death of his father, Luisito Rey, and his need to find his mother at any cost. Simult
aneously, his father figure/manager is also battling cancer. Meanwhile in the early 2000s, we see a lonely Luismi rebuilding his relationship with his estranged daughter, Michelle, whom he had at the age of 18 with Mexican singer Stephanie Salas. The singer hadn't seen Michelle in over 11 years.
