Exclusive Interview: Corinne Foxx and Sistine Stallone Debut in “47 Meters Down: Uncaged”

Two years after the release of thriller movie 47 Meters Down comes the sequel aptly titled 47 Meters Down: Uncaged, which stars Sophie Nélisse, Corinne Foxx and Sistine Stallone. If the last two names sound familiar, it’s because they are. Corinne is the daughter of Jamie Foxx, and Sistine Stallone is the daughter of Sylvester Stallone.

Entertainment Affair had a chance to sit down and interview the girls prior to the release of the film and asked them about their experience with filming this movie, in which Corinne and Sistine made their acting debut.

SYNOPSIS: Four teens diving in a ruined underwater city quickly find themselves in a watery hell as their adventure turns to horror when they learn they are not alone in the submerged caves. As they swim deeper into the claustrophobic labyrinth of caves they enter the territory of the deadliest shark species in the ocean.

Entertainment Affair: You girls had some great chemistry on set throughout the film. Did you know each other prior to the filming?

Sistine Stallone: “Corinne and I did but we really got close on this film. We didn’t know any of the other girls but it was instant friendship since day one. I wouldn’t want to be on this journey with anyone else.”

Entertainment Affair: I know this is Corinne and Sistine’s first film, so tell me about your experience with this film and if your (famous) dad’s gave you girls any pointers?

Sistine Stallone: So I didn't really know what to expect and I think that was the most nerve wracking part for me; it wasn't even doing it underwater or learning how to scuba dive. It was more of the unknown because for the first time, I’m the one in front of the camera. So I did call him a lot in the beginning for advice, literally of everything from how to say this line vs. how do I talk to the director about this. So yea he was really really helpful and very supportive in that.”

Corinne Foxx: “My dad is the worst in the fact that his acting advice is that ‘acting is super easy, and anybody can do it, and you’ll be fine’; which is obviously easy for him to say because he’s won an Oscar so it does come naturally to him. He didn’t really help me with the acting advice, but really on the days that I was down on myself or I was really tired and him kinda pumping me up and being like, ‘hey, Corinne this is the best job you could have in the world, like don’t take it for granted’ and to really enjoy the experience.”

Entertainment Affair: Is this something you girls want to continue doing?

Sistine Stallone: “I could stop here (jokingly laughing). I feel like it’s only going to get worse cause I’ve had so much fun. Nothing can top it obviously.”

Corinne Foxx: “Yea, it’s definitely something I want to keep doing but I don’t think I’ll just be an actor, I think I’ll also be a writer. I’m actually going back to school to do screenwriting so hopefully that’ll work out.”

Entertainment Affair: How was it filming all those scenes that can be a little difficult in regards to the special effects? How was your experience with that?

Sophie Nélisse: “I think we all found it a little hard obviously to start off with because none of us had ever done any scuba diving before, it was new to all of us so we all thought it was a little unusual and just trying to learn how to act but not only acting, it’s also having to deal with all the gear, all the equipment. We were also trying to just survive and breathe properly cause it’s so hard just to learn how to breathe. So once we got that down, I think afterwards it was a little easier, but all the scenes are quite demanding physically. Like every time there’s like a shark attack we’re all swimming on top of each other and it gets really chaotic and we want to make it as realistic as possible so all of us gave 100%, but there were some very emotional and difficult scenes but we all had each other’s backs so it was really nice to have people we could relate to.”

Entertainment Affair: What was the best experience you girls took from filming this movie?

Corinne Foxx: “The friendship because even once we called ‘cut’, we were still hanging out, we were still really close. We were kind of all in these foreign countries together and we really got close and we kind of had to rely on one another to be our family while we were away.”

While we didn’t get a chance to watch the first movie, this sequel is one to check out. Corinne and Sistine proved that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

47 Meters Down: Uncaged is now playing in theaters.
