Bomba Estéreo Launches The "Amanecer" Tour To Critical Praise
One week after the release of their new album "Amanecer," Colombia's hottest musical export Bomba Estéreo has launched its world tour to critical praise. The band played for thousands in its initial tour stops across New York, Los Angeles, Santiago, Bogota and Buenos Aires.
In Buenos Aires, the Argentine press dedicated complimentary and refreshing words; in Santiago, the Chilean audience received the band with warmth. In Bogota, the crowd went wild for Bomba Estéreo's electronic carnival.
This past weekend, Bomba Estéreo brought "Amanecer" to the United States for the first time with shows in Los Angeles and New York. During the LA visit, the band had two performances, one intimate show in the Red Bull Studios followed by a proper concert at the Fonda Theater on Saturday. The loyal fans painted their faces as if it was carnival in outer space with neon colors and while the album had just been released, everyone sang along to every lyric. "Fiesta," the album's first single, has become an anthem for party and celebration, quickly one of the most iconic songs of the summer. This past Monday, the band performed two sold out shows at Subrosa in New York.
"Amanecer," released by Sony Music on June 2, debuted #1 in Colombia and #2 on the iTunes Latino chart in the U.S. In only one week, the album is in the Top 10 of the Latin pop charts and #17 on the overall Latin charts via Soundscan. The album has also received wide praise across anglo and Latin press.
Bomba Estereo has surpassed the language barrier with their music. During the past 4 years, the band has participated in the biggest festivals in the world including Roskilde, Bonnaroo, Coachella, Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Vive Latino, Estereopicnic, Rock Al Parque, Glastonbury, among others. The group have also toured to Africa giving the band the "opportunity to experiment with the direct connection to the origins of their sound."
This week, the band takes "Amanecer" to Spain and France, returning to the U.S. in the middle of July to continue the successful tour.
