WATCH: Bomba Estéreo Take Carnaval to Outer Space with "Fiesta" Music Video
Bomba Estéreo have launched the official music video to lead single "Fiesta" off their upcoming release "Amanecer." The clip, directed by Santiago Caicedo, is an intergalactic adventure.
"'Fiesta' is two worlds told through one story," explains Bomba founder/multi-instrumentalist Simon Mejia. "It pretty much sums up the entire album - a fusion of Colombian carnivals and folkloric rhythms with the world of electronic music. With the video, we took carnaval to the stratosphere."
"The 'Fiesta' lyrics seem simple and it is about a party, but it's not just any party," Bomba singer Liliana Saumet recently told Billboard. "It's a celebration of a culture. It's about connecting with your homeland, and I think that's something that anyone can relate to.
New Bomba Estereo album "Amanecer" is set for release next Tuesday, June 2nd. The group launches their U.S. album release tour next week with dates including The Fonda Theater in Los Angeles (June 6th) and an intimate show at Subrosa in New York City (June 8th).
The group's new album was produced by Ricky Reed of the Oakland hip hop group Wallpaper. Reed has been writing and recording with Bomba Estereo over the past year in studios from Los Angeles to Bogota.
