'The Boy Next Door' and All its Sexiness
The Boy Next Door starring Jennifer Lopez, Ryan Guzman, John Corbett, Ian Nelson and Kristin Chenoweth, is a psychological thriller about a woman who falls for a younger man who moved next door and their affair turns into a dangerous obsession.
Jennifer Lopez stars as Claire Peterson a high school literature teacher, who has separated from her husband Garret (John Corbett). As she struggles deciding to get back with her husband and raising her child Kevin (Ian Nelson) a boy, Noah (Ryan Guzman), moves next door and befriends Claire's son and her family. As Noah spends time with Kevin, he never stops looking at Claire out of the corner of his eyes and with time engages in flirtatious literature conversations that lead her to a moment of weakness and surrenders to Noah's charm in which they share a brief, intense and steamy night together.
The next morning Claire wakes up to a cold reality knowing that she was wrong for sleeping with Noah. She apologizes profusely to Noah for her egregious lapse of judgment, but his once charming flirtatious demeanor turns quickly into a dangerous violent obsession which turns out to be a fatal attraction and forces Claire to her limits as she protects her world and family from being torn apart from a psychotic dangerous man.
"We knew that we were making a popcorn thriller, it was super intense. I never had done a film like that in my career. It was very liberating as an artist because it made me realize I can make whatever movie I want like this. It’s the material that really matters. Not waiting for a big studio to green light something or hire you as an actress – it really is very empowering. I think it’s just a new day, a new time in the kind of trajectory of artists that we have more power in that way than we’ve ever had before," said Lopez.
When you mix Jennifer Lopez and Ryan Guzman in an explosive sex scene that leaves everyone at the edge of their seats it let's it be known that this movie is rated R, and it is going to be a good movie. The steamy seductive and sensual scene between Lopez and Guzman leaves nothing to the imagination. Lopez still has her curves and there was no doubles used to play neither of the characters in the sex scene.
"That is our job to make everything look natural. Scenes like that are always uncomfortable. It’s a very vulnerable position to be in. It’s not something you ever get used to as an actress. It’s just as hard to bare your soul emotionally sometimes. This was a very important scene in this film, so that if that scene didn’t work, the rest of the film doesn’t work, because that’s the moment that they share together. If it wasn’t intense, passionate, real enough, then the rest of the movie doesn’t make any sense," added Lopez.
Let's not forget John Corbett the sexy actor who plays the husband and in this movie he is just as sexy as we remember him 12 years ago when we once saw him as Aidan Shaw on Sex and the City. If you are a fan of Rob Cohen the director of this movie, who directed Fast and the Furious you will sure get to experience some great thrilling scenes that keep building the suspense. Cohen does not fall short to show in this film a car driving scene in which the action and stunt sequences leave the audience wanting more.
"The guy who directed Fast and the Furious directed this, so of course I ended up with a purple hot rod. At first glance, I thought, ‘Are you kidding me?!’ Then you jump in that thing and you become 17. That thing was a six speed – they supped it up. I had to pull up in front of the house maybe 15 feet and then they say, ‘Back to one,’ and I’d could just back it up, but I’d go all the way out to Hollywood Blvd. And go around the whole block. It was fun," said Corbett.
Seduction, sex, obsession, from car chases to fight sequences and a gory ending, The Boy Next Door does not fail to deliver the thrill and suspense that you will be looking for.
