Sony Music Latin Signs Artist and Actor Diego Boneta
Sony Music Latin signed the multi-talented singer-songwriter and actor Diego Boneta, the company announced today.
With his roots in music, Diego Boneta’s impressive career began when he was just 12 years old. After placing fifth out of over 40,000 people on Mexico's hit reality show Código Fama, Boneta landed leading roles in two successful musical programs that aired on Televisa, the country's premier television network.
Boneta’s solo debut, Diego, topped the charts in Mexico, Spain and Latin America and led to a leading role in one of the most successful Mexican series ever, Rebelde, which aired on Televisa. The Portuguese edition of the album reached platinum status in Brazil, selling over 2,000,000 copies. Boneta has received numerous prestigious nominations, including a GRAMMY®, two Latin GRAMMY®s, Best New Artist and Best Solo Artist at the MTV Awards Latin America.
“Music has always been my greatest passion. Ever since I was a child, I’ve had the privilege of singing in many different countries around the world,” says Boneta. “I am thrilled to be able to continue doing what I love to do while being surrounded by a team who has the same passion for music as I do and shares the same dreams, goals and aspirations.”
As an actor, Boneta has appeared in various successful television series, including 90210 and Pretty Little Liars. He co-starred in the feature film Rock of Ages alongside Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, and Catherine Zeta-Jones. The movie's soundtrack, which was also nominated for a GRAMMY®, included nine performances by Boneta.
Boneta recently completed work on two upcoming movie projects, Pelé and Summer Camp, and has been cast in the new mini-series that will air on CBS. Recently named a'Face to Watch' by the Los Angeles Times, he is currently featured in Abercrombie & Fitch’s global advertising campaign.
