Marc Anthony is the Biggest Winner at the 2014 Billboard Latin Music Awards
Thrilling millions of television viewers worldwide, the biggest Latin music stars converged to celebrate the best in Latin music at the 2014 Billboard Latin Music Awards presented by State Farm® televised on Telemundo.Music fans were treated to an event jam-packed with memorable moments, from the mesmerizing glamour of TV and music stars on the red carpet to spectacular performances, music collaborations and passionate acceptance speeches. Top honors went to the biggest selling Salsa music artist of all time, Marc Anthony who received ten Billboard Latin Music Awards, including Artist of the Year, Airplay Song of the Year, and Top Latin Album of the Year. La Arrolladora Banda el Limón de René Camacho was honored with five awards including Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year, Duo or Group; while Dominican singer/songwriter Prince Royce received four trophies including Streaming Song of the Year. Romeo Santos and the late Jenni Rivera received three awards each. The three-hour show featured performances by world renowned names in Latin music, including: Marc Anthony, Andrea Bocelli, Juanes, Laura Pausini, Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias, Wisin, Chayanne, Prince Royce, Franco de Vita, David Bisbal, Luis Fonsi, Cristian Castro, La Arrolladora Banda El Limon De Rene Camacho, Banda El Recodo De Cruz Lizárraga, Sean Paul and Michel Telo. In the tradition of the Billboard Latin Music Award’s, viewers were treated to worldwide television premieres, and unique collaborations by heavy hitters who joined forces onstage for rare and mesmerizing performances, including Laura Pausini and Andrea Bocelli performing“Vive Ya;” Prince Royce and Michel Telo singing “Darte un Beso;” and Wisin and Sean Paul wowed the audience with “Baby Danger.” The spectacular awards show was hosted by the beloved TV personality, Raul Gonzalez; Hollywood actress, Roselyn Sanchez, and legendary Mexican actress, singer and TV host Laura Flores.
Colombian singer Carlos Vives was honored with the Billboard Spirit of Hope Award for his decades’ long commitment on behalf of the indigenous and Afro-Colombian communities; Andrea Bocelli received the Billboard Lifetime Achievement Award and Franco de Vita was awarded the Billboard Hall of Fame Award.
