Monsters University took over the Chivas USA vs. Seattle soccer game “half-time” at the Los Angeles Home Depot Center this past weekend as kick-off to release month!

The event started with a fun standee where people could take their own Student ID photo and tweet it out for a chance to get tickets to a pre-screening. The Jumbotron featured a customized Monsters University “Scream-o-Meter” that encouraged the whole audience to scream. The Chivas USA mascot was at hand, dressed for the occasion as the “Scream-o-Meter” had a chance to gauge the best “ROAR” from those in attendance, selecting a lucky row of “scarers” who received a few surprises from the film.

Monsters University unlocks the door to how Mike Wazowski (voice of Billy Crystal) and James P. Sullivan (voice of John Goodman) overcame their differences and became the best of friends. Mike and Sulley are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn't stand each other.

The film opens in U.S. theaters on June 21, 2013, and will be shown in Disney Digital 3D in select theaters.
