MundoFox to Produce Spanish-Language Version of 'X Factor'
Auditions for “El Factor X,” Produced by FremantleMedia Latin America, to Start in June
MundoFox today announced that it will produce “El Factor X,” an original Spanish-language version of “The X Factor,” which will give U.S. Spanish-language viewers the opportunity to help choose the next young Latino superstar or breakout music group. The globally renowned music competition show is set to premiere on MundoFox this summer.
Produced by FremantleMedia Latin America for MundoFox, “El Factor X” will give aspiring young singers the opportunity of a lifetime. The soon-to-be announced judges will travel to top cities in the U.S. searching for undiscovered talent from 8 to 15 years old, both solo artists and vocal groups.
“With the massive success that ‘The X Factor’ has had in the U.S. and around the world, we are absolutely delighted to launch the same format with a twist for U.S. Hispanic viewers,” said Adriana Ibañez, EVP of Programming for MundoFox. “This format is very much aligned with the quality programming we look to provide to our MundoFox viewers.”
The music competition format is a worldwide phenomenon with more than 500 million viewers across 17 countries. “The X Factor” format is owned by Syco, a global music, television and film production joint venture between Simon Cowell and Sony Music Entertainment.
