The iconic action hero, Arnold Schwarzenegger returns to the big screen. This time in the thrilling action packed modern western, The Last Stand, by South Korean director Kim Jee-Kwon (I Saw Devil; The Tale of Two Sisters; The Good, The Bad and The Weird) and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformer series, GI Joe: Retaliation).

After a skillfully designed escape from federal custody, Gabriel Cortez (Eduardo Noriega) a dangerous drug kingpin with an FBI agent (Genesis Rodriguez) as his hostage, starts a high speed chase to the US- Mexico border and his freedom. In order to reach his objective he will have to go through the small and uneventful town of Summerton Junction. This will be the last opportunity for FBI agent John Bannister (Forrest Whitaker) to intercept this criminal before he is lost forever, out of the reach of US law enforcement. Arnold Schwarzenegger as Ray Owens, Summerton Junction’s Sherriff and his team of underdogs will gather strength, wit and creativity in order to stop the violent Cortez and his cold-blooded squad of mercenaries.

The Last Stand, besides being Schwarzenegger’s first leading role in a decade is also the directorial debut in the United States of celebrated filmmaker Kim Jee-Kwon. “Arnold has done everything in Hollywood and I am just starting up in Hollywood. We are so different, but when I met him our thoughts on The Last Stand and his character coincided,” said Jee- Kwon. He also explained how they both saw a story about an unstoppable menace and a group of people inspired by justice. In this way the veteran actor and the new face in Hollywood teamed up to give life to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s much-anticipated comeback.

Joining Schwarzenegger in this high-speed adventure is a stellar cast. This versatile group of actors includes Forest Whitaker, Eduardo Noriega, Peter Stormare, Jaimie Alexander, Zach Gilford, Rodrigo Santoro, Luis Guzmán and Genesis Rodriguez. The cast members showed their excitement in working with such an important figure in the action movie genre, some of them claim growing up watching his films and consider a huge honor sharing the big screen with this internationally acclaimed true action hero.

Another key element in this film that can be considered almost a main character is the incredibly fast Corvette ZR1. This specially equipped vehicle is the protagonist of carefully choreographed chasing scenes and took part in several impressive car crashes and explosions. As the weapon of choice of the drug lord Gabriel Cortez, it is the car that no one can stop.
