E! Brings a Pop of Culture to Spanish-Speaking Audiences with New Mobile App: E! Latino
E! Expands Robust Multi-Platform Strategy to Appeal to Spanish-Speaking Pop Culture Fans
E! Latino Is the Largest and Most Comprehensive Spanish-Language App for Celebrity and Entertainment News
E! debuts today an innovative new mobile app, E! Latino, for the large, vibrant and fast-growing Spanish-speaking audience. The launch of the app is part of E!’s wide-ranging initiative to better serve and entertain the Spanish-language population and expand on its existing success with the Hispanic audience, which is currently Eonline’s fastest growing audience segment (up 44% year-to-date). The initiative will continue to roll out in 2013 with additional digital and on-air extensions. The app is available for iPhone, iPod touch, and Android devices in the U.S. as well as 32 international territories across Latin America and the Caribbean, building on E!’s large existing footprint in the region. E! is also working closely with sister network Telemundo to distribute E! Latino content and promote the app across their digital platforms.
E! Latino app features original series, breaking news videos, celebrity interviews, photo galleries, interactive features and more, all in Spanish, utilizing the same cutting-edge design and user interface that has contributed to the success of Eonline’s popular app. With unmatched flexibility and robust content, the unique platform has contributed to Eonline’s success as the fastest-growing entertainment digital property.
Original series on the E! Latino app include Latin Bites, Zona Trendy, and VIP Caracas, as well as a daily E! Latino version of the network’s popular breaking news web series, E! News Now, which will also be syndicated widely to a number of E!’s online partners. In addition to video, the app offers up a variety of articles and features each day, as well as in-depth profiles on popular Hispanic personalities. Photo galleries spotlight major red carpet premieres, award shows, celebrity fashion and lifestyle trends. All the latest clips from E!’s hit series, including Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Married to Jonas, Chelsea Lately and The Soup, are also featured.
U.S. Hispanic audiences over-index on smartphone penetration and mobile media consumption as compared to the non-Hispanic population. According to the recent Nielsen State of the Hispanic Consumer Report, Hispanics are 28% more likely to own a smartphone than non-Hispanic Whites. According to the same report, Hispanics are 39% more likely to access the mobile internet and twice as likely to consume mobile video.
