'The Campaign': Will Ferrell & Zach Galifianakis' Political Satire Wins Our Vote
Politics is a heavy subject that can bring Americans together as one- or completely tear them apart. From the production team that brought you movies like the sequels to "Meet the Parents" and "Austin Powers" comes a laugh out loud comedy starring improv experts Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis, "The Campaign".
A comedy made in time to "congratulate Congress to do such a wonderful job!.” From the meaningless political speeches, feeble-minded crowds and amazingly big and "strong" hairdos, director Jay Roach did an incredible work putting together this ridiculously funny yet "not far off from real life" story with the help of "improv masters"; Will and Zach. “I think comedy is the correct response to politics these days. At least it gives you something to laugh about and makes the reality of it easier to swallow, whereas if you just watch the news it can be pretty scary,” Roach offers. “Looking at some of today’s election campaigns, I don’t know if this is what our founding fathers had in mind.”
Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis make an entertaining pair of rivals in this political parody that will surely bring a good laugh with its exaggerated comedy and underlining social commentary. Ferrell, who stars as entrenched incumbent Cam Brady, says, “One of the things the story makes fun of is the amount of money that can be poured into elections and how much influence it can have.” Galifianakis is at the top of his form in this short but perfectly timed comedy. “I’ve followed politics all my life and I’m still amazed by the amount of puppeteering that goes on behind the scenes in the making of a politician, and how the public can be duped by that,” he says.
This rated R film will guarantee you uncontrollable laughter from beginning to end. So either right wing, left wing, or undecided this movie is guaranteed to be a great comedic relief to elections and the stress that comes with it.
