Regil to Host Spanish-Language Version of “Minute to Win It” for MundoFox
Popular Mexican TV personality Marco Antonio Regil has been named host of the upcoming Spanish-language version of the hit game show “Minute to Win It” (“Minuto Para Ganar”).
The first Spanish-language production from Shine America, “Minuto Para Ganar” is set to debut on the new U.S. broadcast network MundoFox this August.
Adam Zuvich, who served as co-executive producer on NBC’s recent successful run of “Minute to Win It,” is set to serve as the show’s Executive Producer. Rich Brown, who oversaw all games for the NBC series, is also on board as co-executive producer for “Minuto Para Ganar.”
“Marco Antonio is one of the most respected and well known TV hosts in Mexican television and we are thrilled he is joining us for ‘Minuto Para Ganar,’” says Harvey Grisalez, Vice President, Creative Affairs, Shine Latino. “With Marco Antonio, Adam and a great overall production team, this series is poised to be a strong addition to MundoFox’s initial prime time lineup.”
“We are thrilled to have a talent of Marco Antonio’s stature join MundoFox,” said Emiliano Saccone, President of MundoFox. “He has hosted some of Latin America’s biggest shows and we have no doubt he will be tremendously successful on our network.”
Regil has long been considered one of Mexico’s top TV hosts, having hosted such powerhouses as “The Price is Right,” “Family Feud,” “Dancing with the Stars” and “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader” in Mexico. As host of Mexico’s National Telethon for over 15 years, Regil has helped raise over $500 million for disabled children and children with cancer. The 2011 telethon was the first to be simulcast in both the U.S. and Mexico. Regil is also the spokesperson for Children International in both English and Spanish.
