Telemundo Signs Actress and Host Adamari Lopez to Morning Show "Levántate"
Telemundo, the fastest growing broadcast network regardless of language season-to-date, announced today it has signed renowned actress and host Adamari López to join the network’s morning show “Levántate” (Monday-Friday, 7am-10am ET). The popular and beloved personality, who has built a successful career in television, film and theater, as well as a deep connection with the Hispanic audience, will join the “Levántate” team of on-air personalities as a co-host starting this summer.

Broadcast live from Miami, “Levántate” is a three-hour morning show featuring upbeat, lively segments and engaging hosts, bringing viewers a fresh dose of entertainment and news and information on a daily basis. The show offers the latest from the world of entertainment, technology and cooking, combined with consumer tips, expert advice and high viewer interactivity.

With more than 20 novelas, seven plays, five films and countless guest appearances under her belt, López is one of the most cherished stars for Spanish-language television viewers around the world. Born in Puerto Rico, she became a household name through her work in film, television and theater, which began at the young age of seven with the telenovela “Maria Eugenia.” Later, her participation in the mini-series “Hasta el Fondo del Dolor” (To the Bottom of Pain) garnered her a TV y Novelas Award for Best Supporting Actress. In 1999, she traveled to Mexico to join Televisa and her leading roles in the productions that followed, including the much acclaimed “Amigas y Rivales” (Friends and Rivals), “Gata Salvaje” (Wild Cat), “Mujer de Madera” (Wooden Woman), “Bajo las Riendas del Amor” (Under the Reigns of Love) and “Alma de Hierro” (Soul of Steel), made her an international star. Most recently, López participated in the dance competition show “Mira Quien Baila,” where she won first place.
López has graced the covers of top magazines including Vanidades, People en Español, Caras, Hola Mexico, Imagen and Siempre Mujer, among others. A breast cancer survivor, she is leading the cause through her efforts as spokesperson for “Save Lids to Save Lives” which benefits the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Her personal struggle with the disease, and her commitment to find a cure earned her People en Español’s recognition as Person of the Year and inclusion in the magazine’s 25 Most Powerful Women in 2011. She has also been part of the magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful edition in four occasions, including this year's issue.
