Shalim Ortiz Makes His Debut on Telemundo’s Hit Novela “Una Maid en Manhattan”

Renowned actor Shalim Ortiz makes his Spanish-language telenovela acting debut on Telemundo’s top-rated original production “Una Maid en Manhattan” (8pm/7c) starting this Wednesday, April 4th. Ortiz will play a man who unleashes new feelings of passion and jealousy in this novela that tells the love story of Marisa Luján (Litzy) and Cristobal Salas Parker (Eugenio Siller).

After his great success in English-language productions, Shalim returns to the Latin market in “Una Maid en Manhattan.” His character, Frank Varela, is a civil engineer who moves to Queens with his daughter in search of a new professional opportunity following the death of his wife. Frank will be hired by Cristóbal to work on a project, and his honesty, humility and charisma will win over more than one heart.

Shalim Ortiz, of Puerto Rican origin, has been one of a handful of Latin stars who has worked in the entertainment business in English as well as in Spanish. Among his credits, a few that stand out are the popular TV series Heroes and CSI Miami. In addition to his work in television, he has been in over 10 films. Also he has been on the “50 Most Beautiful” list by People en Español magazine four times. This April, he will play the young version of Frank Vega, the main character in the Hollywood film “Bad Ass.”
