"We are extremely excited to once again return to the entertainment capital of the world and work with the great team at the Mandalay Bay Events Center to offer Univision viewers in the United States and worldwide music fans memorable Latin GRAMMY performances," said Gabriel Abaroa Jr., President/CEO of The Latin Recording Academy®. "As always, the road to the Latin GRAMMYs will kick off with events that showcase flourishing young musicians and educational programs and celebrate icons within the industry. We also look forward to working on another remarkable telecast with the city of Las Vegas and our various partners."
The road to the Latin GRAMMYs — a month-long series of cultural events culminating in the biggest night in Latin music — begins with the Latin GRAMMY Acoustic Sessions and Latin GRAMMY Street Parties taking place in six cities across the United States and in São Paulo and Mexico City, as well as The Latin Recording Academy Showcases series, the Special Awards Presentation, and the Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year tribute gala.
Since the annual Latin GRAMMY telecast debuted on Univision entirely in Spanish in 2005, the show has consistently earned increased ratings year after year worldwide. Additionally, the Latin GRAMMYs has become one of Univision's highest rated shows, as well as the most watched and highly regarded awards event by Hispanics.
