JOTDOG to Perform at SXSW's Music Week
The duet will take the stage at the highly acclaimed showcases ONErpm and Billboard Latin on March 13 and March 14
Jotdog, the two-time Latin Grammy nominated duo from Mexico that has taken the Latin music scene by storm with their Steam Punk musical concept, will rock the stage in Austin next week as part of the world renowned festival South by Southwest Music Conference (SXSW).
Jotdog has been invited to perform during the music week of the festival at the ONErpm's showcase on March 13 at The Whiskey Room and at the prestigious Billboard Latin Showcase on March 14 at Soho Lounge.
ONErpm, a leader in global music distribution, has invited Jotdog to perform at their 2012 SXSW showcase, which this year will feature emerging young Latin acts such as Mr. Pauer (Venezuela), TELEBIT (Colombia), Mr. Bleat (Colombia), and Candy (Mexico).
Jotdog will also perform at the Billboard Latin Showcase at SXSW 2012, joining a lineup of international acts March 14 at Austin's Soho Lounge that exemplifies the style-shifting nature of current Latin music. The showcase will also feature Grammy-nominated art punk rockers La Vida Boheme, Barcelona euphoric rumba rock group Muchachito Bombo Infierno, Colombian cumbia-pop rapper Duran, singer-songwriter and Latin rhythmatist Javier Garcia, and Guadalajara's Radaid, whose textured harmonies combine world folk and electronic music.
Jotdog's sophomore album Jotdog II: Turista del Amor (Tourist of Love) has captured the attention of Mexican music critics, earning high praise by the most important publications in the country. The newspaper El Informador describes the album as "An energetic mix of sounds", while MixUp Magazine calls it: "A very interesting concept that cleverly exploits electropop with lyrics inspired by the lack of love and science fiction of yesterday."
Jotdog II: Turista del Amor was released in the United States on January 17, 2012, and the first single "Lluvia de Estrellas" was chosen as Single of The Week by iTunes Latino.
