Young, beautiful and kind, Ana Paula met her handicapped and short-tempered husband Rogelio (Jorge Salinas) after a sly and manipulative lawyer named Bruno (Julián Gil) convinces her to go work at “Hacienda del Fuerte.” Ana Paula does everything she can to take good care of her patient, until one day she can’t take the abuse anymore and decides to quit.

That same day she meets Gustavo (José Ron), a young and handsome engineer who rescues her from an accident.  They immediately fall in love, but a cruel twist of fate soon tears them apart.

Believing she has lost her one true love, Ana Paula is coerced into returning to the hacienda, as Rogelio has now become obsessed with making her his wife.
