Mexican actor Rafael Amaya is very honored to have received a nomination to the Miami Life Awards as “Leading Male Actor of the Year”.  Amaya receives said nod for his performance as Julian Garcia Correa in Telemundo’s telenovela “Alguien Te Mira” (“Someone is Watching You”).

In its 6th year, Miami Life Awards looks to continue its mission of recognizing the professional work of Latinos in the media industry.  The event will take place at La Scala in the city of Miami on Jan. 28th.

“It’s an honor to know that the Latino community supports and recognizes me as one of the best lead actors of the year.  I’m very happy with the nomination and appreciate it immensely.”  Amaya said excitedly.

Amaya wrapped up 2011 with various professional achievements worldwide after having starred in “La Reina del Sur” (“Queen of the South”)—The most-watched soap opera in the history of Telemundo—as well as Spain’s highly rated “Hospital Central” and “Doctor Mateo”.  Amaya was also named one of the “50 Most Beautiful” by the prestigious magazine People en Español.  And as if that wasn’t enough, the actor also surprised the industry introducing another facet of himself as the host of the 2011 Billboard Latin Music Awards.

2012 is shaping up to be another successful year for the actor who recently moved to Los Angeles with the purpose of continuing work in the Hollywood film industry.
