MANÁ Tops the Charts

by EAStaff | March 24, 2011

After a 5 year hiatus, Mexican rock band, Maná, is set to release their new album “Drama y Luz” on April 12.  The first single, “Lluvia Al Corazon”, was released to radio stations on March 14 and is already topping the Billboard’s Nielsen BDS Latin Songs radio airplay chart as No. 1.  According to Billboard.com “Lluvia Al Corazon” marks the band’s sixth No. 1 on Latin Songs and eighth leader on Latin Pop Songs. The song also opens at No. 4 on Tropical Songs.  This makes Maná the first Latin group to reach two No.1 hit singles during the first release week, ever since the Latin Songs chart premiere back in 1986. The other single, “Labios Compartidos”, was from Maná’s 7th studio album “Amar es Combatir”, back in 2006.

It is also confirmed that all four group members- Fher Olvera, Alex Gonzalez, Sergio Vallin and Juan Diego Calleros- for the first time in their 20 year career will sit on a “Star Q&A” at the upcoming Billboard Latin Music Conference and Awards to talk about their music, tour, and the music industry.  The event, which is the single most important Latin music industry event, will be held from April 26-28 and Maná’s Q&A will take place April 27 in Miami Beach.
