Univision's “Nuestra Belleza Latina” Getting Fresh New Look and Cast for Eighth Edition
Hispanic TV’s longest-running and most popular reality beauty competition, “Nuestra Belleza Latina” (Our Latin Beauty), is getting a fresh new look and cast for the eighth edition which debuts Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central).
Actress, model and Univision personality Chiquinquirá Delgado, actor and former “Mira Quien Baila” competitor Pedro Moreno, and first-ever “Nuestra Belleza Latina” winner and Sabado Gigante co-host Alejandra Espinoza are the three new hosts who will guide this season’s 12 contestants through the show’s unique mix of unscripted behind-the-scenes intrigue, demanding new challenges, and all the glitzy and glamorous elements of a beauty competition. Also joining the show this season are 2 Ex-Miss Universes, Denise Quiñones and Alicia Machado, who will each offer their expert advice as mentors to a different team of contestants, helping them master the runway, offer them guidance on fashion and make-up, and add yet another element of competition to the show.
And due to popular demand, this season will feature much more behind-the-scenes candid coverage of the 12 finalists’ after-hours drama as they move into the “Nuestra Belleza Latina” mansion for the duration of the competition.
“Without a doubt, this will be the most exciting season ever for ‘Nuestra Belleza Latina’”, said Alberto Ciurana, president of Programming and Content for Univision Networks. “The new hosts and Ex-Misses will bring a fresh, new dynamic to the show and we’ll be raising the entertainment bar, as well, by inviting even more superstar musical guests to perform spectacularly lavish numbers each week.”
Showcasing talented young Latinas from across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, the competition is guaranteed to be hot as viewers will know who the first 12 finalists are from the get-go and who will then move into a luxurious mansion where they’ll live and fight for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: an exclusive contract with Univision, $200,000 in cash and prizes, and a brand-new car. Once again, the winner will be decided by the viewing public.
